NETFLIX
Current status: marketing manager for Netflix Benelux. Driving fandom and conversations for Netflix brand, titles and talent.
How I got here I started doing freelance work for Netflix in 2019 and went from doing title-based campaign work (e.g. for The End of the F***ing World and The Crown) to doing all things social as a contractor. From 2021 to 2022, I took on the role of social marketing manager while my client-turned-teammate was on maternity leave. Afterwards I resorted to doing title-focused marketing work, alongside an interim supporting role for the content team (the people who decide which shows get made in the Benelux). Then after roughly four years of freelance and interim shenanigans, I was hired to be the newest marketing manager for the Benelux region.
Previously on… During my time as a freelancer I helped the lovely people at Netflix Benelux create campaigns for (potential) fans of series and films. Follow Netflix’s social channels here, here and here and here (hear hear) to see what that looks like on their owned channels. It’s a dream, really. I also direct marketing shoots whenever I can and sometimes they let me interview amazing people. Here’s a chat I had with the legendary composer Tom Holkenborg about scoring movies and series. Here’s an interview with former NBA-champ Francisco Elson about The Last Dance and here’s the one with powerhouse Thekla Reuten about her part in Warrior Nun. Fair warning: I do a lot of open mouth laughs. The below examples are pretty outdated but who has the time.
